Scullery Coffee - Brand Identity
Agency: Phil Heys Design
Context
A favour for a friend who lives and works in San Francisco. He runs a number of small businesses, one of which is Scullery. Scullery is a small coffee store in the Tenderloin District. It merges the 2 worlds of hipster coffee with traditional British fodder, including Welsh Rarebit + PG Tips.
Solution
It’s like a shiny new Third Wave SF coffee shop, but imbued with a sense of history and place, a feeling of provenance, of belonging. The logo references this with the coffee vine wrapping around a Scottish stags skull. The scratchboard wood cut style of the symbol is juxtaposed with a contemporary sans serif typeface for the wordmark.
